The Client: Eve M. Thompson – Reston, VA
Eve Thompson is one the most successful real estate agents in the Northern Virginia metro of Reston. Her goal from the beginning was to be cutting edge, provide her audience with engaging content about the communities, an easy way to find properties, opportunities to connect on social media and up-to-date blog information on what’s happening in the Reston real estate market and community. After a year on our Internet Marketing program, we agreed that the site should undergo a re-design to take advantage of the data we had uncovered about her site. Eve worked closely with her us, to develop the right design strategy that would promote her knowledge and personality.
The Challenge: Improving Engagement Through The website
On Eve’s site you can watch a video about Reston, read her blog, connect on Facebook or use her Quick Chat application. As we can see from the data over the last few years, her site is incredibly sticky (i.e., people keep coming back). Many of the design updates were driven by analytics. We could see what content visitors liked the most, how visitors like to contact and the type of visitors that Eve wanted to target. Not only does Eve now have top online visibility in her market, but the best website experience and marketing mix that stands her out from the competition. Eve Thompson began with the Internet Marketing program in September 2009 and has seen exponential growth of her online presence in the Reston, VA market area.
Started IM: September 2009 May 2012-2013 vs May 2011-2012 Our primary strategies include aggressive blogging, social media and inbound content marketing, which provided an increase in unique visitors of 146% to over 14,000 visitors a year. As her website has evolved, the site authority with search engines has improved. She has acquired more quality inbound links from blogging for the highly trafficked ‘Reston Patch’, which last year brought her over 3000 visitors an increase of 811% on the year before. The site’s engagement metrics improved after a re-design, including a bounce rate of below 40%. We have been able to dig deeper into the community and provide information on the surrounding Reston communities, while providing up-to-date market trends and helpful tips for buyers and sellers. Part of Eve’s success has been her hard-working attitude, ability to communicate her goals and be bold with new ideas. We love to work with her!
