About Union Street Media

We believe in independence, real and genuine relationships, that real estate agents are the future, and change is constant.

Our Story

It all started in a dorm room at Middlebury College in 1999 ...

Union Street Media was founded by Ted Adler in September 1999. It was called CollegeXTRA and started out of his Middlebury College dorm room with the launch of, his first website.

After working with every kind of website, Ted soon found a need and niche in that of Real Estate. When most Realtors were still using the “Black Book” to showcase their listings in person, Ted ventured into the digital age.  Union Street Media was the first company to develop real estate websites in northern New England where listings would be automatically updated from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Union Street Media acquired several former competitors growing our client base and hiring new employees.   Today there are over 30 employees at Union Street Media who have been with us for more than 3.5 years on average (which is a long time for a young tech company!)

Our Culture

We are committed to fostering a healthy work–life balance.

We are a team of marketers, designers, developers and engineers; more importantly, we are a group of people who share a love of mountains, craft beer, video games and, well, life in general.

Being a smaller company means that every one of us wears many different hats. We encourage our entire team to be creative and innovative – we consider ourselves lucky to have the opportunity to not only shape the company’s future but the future of real estate development every single day.

Have you ever realized that, as a full-time worker, you spend more time with your co-workers than your own family? Here at Union Street Media, we do. That is why we have created a culture that is both welcoming and comfortable but also enjoyable.

Our culture has been something we have always focused on. As a result, we created our very own QLA Board (Quality of Life Assurance Board). This board is comprised of individuals throughout the company that are representing their peers. They are considering and implementing employee feedback and the best wishes of the Company as a whole. The QLA Board’s single priority is the overall well being of the employees it serves, being charged with promoting the health and happiness of all Union Street Media employees.
